An abandoned baby was found in Saqqez.

On Saturday, January 3, a three-month-old baby was discovered abandoned on a street in Saqqez city. The baby, who had been taken to the hospital for tests, was transferred to a nursery outside the city due to the lack of places to keep babies in Saqqez. The head of the Saqqez Welfare Department reported that the baby is in perfect health.
According to HRANA news agency, quoting IRNA, the head of the Saqqez Welfare Department announced that a three-month-old baby was found in front of the door of one of the welfare units in the city.
Mohammad Joya stated: "On the morning of Saturday, January 3, one of his colleagues noticed a baby wrapped in a blanket and abandoned in front of one of the office units."
He added: "The relevant institutions were immediately contacted, and after the minutes of the meeting were prepared, the newborn was delivered to the hospital by order of the prosecutor's office so that necessary care and tests could be performed on him."
Joya added: "Since Saqqez does not have a place to keep children under six years old, after ensuring that he was healthy, after two days and in accordance with existing guidelines, he was transferred to a nursery and place to keep babies under six years old outside Saqqez."
The head of the Saqqez Welfare Department said: “This baby is currently healthy and under care at the infant center.”
Regarding the identity of the baby's parents, he said: "There is no information about them, and in the past few days, no one has come forward to follow up on his fate, and this department is working with the competent authorities to identify the parents of these individuals."
Saqqez, with a population of over 226,000, is the second most populous city in Kurdistan Province, located 190 kilometers north of Sanandaj, the provincial capital.
