Arrest of Another Signatory of the 77-Person Statement

Mohammad Kianush Rad, a reformist political activist and one of the signatories of the famous 77-person statement, has been arrested.

According to ILNA news agency, security forces arrested Mr. Kianush Rad at his home and transferred him to Evin Prison.

77 political activists from various reformist factions, following the severe crackdown on protesters, issued a statement calling for legal action against those responsible for shooting at people.

Following the release of this statement, some of the signatories, including Mostafa Tajzadeh, Hossein Karroubi, Qorban Behzadyan Nejad, Hassan Asadi Zeidabadi, Issa Saharkhiz, and Reyhaneh Tabatabaei, were summoned to the prosecutor’s office.

Mehdi Mahmoudian, another signatory of the 77-person statement, was also arrested on Tuesday, December 10, following his summons to the prosecutor’s office.
