At Least Six Members of 11th Parliament Infected with Coronavirus

With the announcement that Vahid Jalalizadeh, representative of Urmia in parliament, has contracted coronavirus, the number of infected lawmakers in the 11th parliament has reached at least six.
FARS News Agency reported on Wednesday, July 9, that Vahid Jalalizadeh is currently in quarantine.
Previously, Mohammad Hossein Farhangi, spokesperson for the parliament’s presiding board, had stated that more than 100 representatives have been tested for coronavirus and “approximately 7 of them tested positive.”
It is not yet clear which representative is the seventh infected lawmaker.
Tabnak website had previously reported that Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi, representative of Kerman, was the first infected lawmaker in this term, who due to respiratory problems spent time in the ICU and is currently recovering at home.
Mohammad Tala Mazloomi, representative of Behbahan; Mohammad Mowahhed, representative of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad; Hossein Ali Hajideligan, representative of Shahinshahr, Boroujen and Meymeh; and Alireza Varnasseri, representative of Masjed Soleyman, are also infected with coronavirus.
Before the start of the 11th parliament, Fatema Rahbar and Mohammad Ali Ramazani, elected representatives of Tehran and Astaneh Ashrafiyeh, died due to coronavirus infection.
In the 10th parliament, several representatives were also infected with coronavirus, which was announced to have been primarily caused by Ahmad Amirabad Farahi, representative of Qom, who attended parliament while in “poor condition.”
