Coronavirus Damage in Iran Estimated at 75 Thousand Billion Tomans

The Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance stated: According to our estimates, approximately 15 percent of the country’s gross domestic product has been affected by the coronavirus disease. It may be higher in the world, because the service sector is more developed, but in our country the service sector has not yet expanded to that extent, and we hope to be able to manage it and reduce its effects.

Based on this calculation, the 15 percent damage figure that the economy minister is referring to, with the gross domestic product including oil, amounts to 750,620.1 billion rials, and without oil it is 645,718.35 billion rials.
