Dark Days of Corona and Declaration of All-Out War Against Coronavirus in Iran

Despite serious warnings from the Ministry of Health about the spread of coronavirus, the Islamic Propagation Organization is discussing holding ceremonies on November 4th (13th of Aban). The spokesperson of this organization has called holding demonstrations in these circumstances a crime. 27 provinces are in a red situation.

The death toll from coronavirus in Iran continues to rise day by day. In the past 24 hours, according to official statistics released by Iran’s Ministry of Health, 415 more people have died from COVID-19.

Iran is experiencing difficult times regarding the spread of coronavirus. Officials at the Ministry of Health speak of “dark days of coronavirus in Iran.”

Sima Sadat Lari, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Health, has formally requested that officials in this country take immediate action to counter further spread of this virus.

All-Out War

The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Health, referring to the increasing number of COVID-19 victims in Iran, has called for a change in the behavior of both people and government, and has spoken of an “all-out war” against the coronavirus.

Based on statistics released by the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) on November 7th (28th of Aban), the number of new coronavirus cases in Iran over the past 24 hours has increased by more than 6,800 people.

These same statistics indicate that more than one-third of those who were infected with coronavirus in Iran the previous day have been hospitalized. As a result, the total number of people infected with coronavirus in Iran is approaching 590,000.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Health announced the number of coronavirus deaths in Iran as 33,714 people. This is while some officials believe the actual figures are three to four times higher than the official statistics.

Among Iran’s provinces, the spread of coronavirus has been reported as orange in Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, Fars, and Golestan provinces only.

The situation in 27 provinces of Iran, including Central Province and Razavi Khorasan Province, has been reported as red.

This is while Mashhad witnessed a large gathering of people at the invitation of the Islamic Propagation Organization, and this center has spoken about holding ceremonies on November 4th (13th of Aban). Nastrat-Allah Lotfi, deputy head of the coordinating council of this organization, announced on Tuesday, November 3rd (6th of Aban) that these demonstrations would be held in Tehran and some other cities in Iran.

Sima Sadat Lari has called the holding of these gatherings in the current circumstances a crime, and the Ministry of Health has expressed opposition to holding these ceremonies.
