Ibrahim Firouzi Ends Hunger Strike Following Favorable Promises from Officials

Ibrahim Firouzi, an exiled Christian imprisoned in Zahedan Prison, ended his hunger strike on Tuesday, the 28th of Bahman, following favorable promises from officials. He began his hunger strike on Saturday, the 25th of Bahman, in protest against what he describes as fabricated cases filed against him by the Ministry of Intelligence while imprisoned in Chabahar. He has been transferred from Chabahar Prison to Zahedan Prison in recent days.
According to a report by Hrana news agency citing Source 18, on Tuesday, the 28th of Bahman 1399, Ibrahim Firouzi, an exiled Christian, ended his hunger strike.
Based on this report, Firouzi’s decision to end his hunger strike came after officials made favorable promises regarding the review of his case.
Additionally, in recent days, this Christian was transferred from Chabahar Prison to Zahedan Prison.
Fireuzi began an unlimited hunger strike on Saturday, the 25th of Bahman 1399, in Chabahar Prison, demanding complete acquittal from what he describes as fabricated charges filed against him by the Ministry of Intelligence.
Ibrahim Firouzi, an exiled Christian in Rask County, was summoned to the public and revolutionary prosecutor’s office of Sarbadar County on Sunday, the 19th of Bahman 1399.
On Monday, the 20th of Bahman, after appearing at the prosecutor’s office and having bail set, he was arrested due to his inability to pay the bail and was transferred to Chabahar Prison.
Fireuzi was also summoned to the Rask prosecutor’s office in Mehr of the current year and was acquitted of the charges on the court date of the 6th of Mehr of the current year.
This Christian, after enduring seven years of imprisonment, returned to Rask County on the 1st of Azar 1398 to serve his two-year exile sentence and reported himself.
His exile sentence was extended again in Ordibehesht of this year due to what was termed “absence” or “abandonment of mandatory residence,” and Branch 24 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Mohammad Reza Amouzad, sentenced him to an additional eight months of exile in Sarbadar County. It should be noted that three months of his exile were considered as time already served for absence, bringing his total exile to 11 months.
Ibrahim Firouzi has a previous record of arrest and conviction due to his religious beliefs. The 35-year-old lathe worker, a resident of Robat Karim, was first arrested in Dey 1388 due to evangelical activities promoting Christianity after being summoned twice by security agencies, and was transferred to Raji Shahr Prison in Karaj. In this case, he was sentenced by Karaj’s Revolutionary Court to five months of disciplinary imprisonment and five months of suspended imprisonment.
