Indian Christian Doctor Suspended from Work for Praying for COVID Patients

Dr. Sandha Tiwari, Indian Christian doctor
A Christian doctor in India was suspended from work after praying for some of his patients to recover in the name of God.

After a hospital visitor complained against Dr. Sandha Tiwari, the hospital’s Christian doctor, for praying for critically ill COVID patients, police confiscated his mobile phone and Christian pamphlets, and hospital authorities suspended him from work.
According to a report by Persecution, in a short video circulated on Indian social media, Dr. Tiwari defended his actions and said: “What is wrong with telling patients that God heals? I didn’t tell anyone to convert or force anyone to pray. I simply prayed for the patients in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Now this young Christian doctor, who lives in Madhya Pradesh, India, faces charges of promoting Christianity in his workplace, and Hindu nationalists have called for his trial in court.
It is worth noting that India is facing the worst wave of COVID in the world, with over 300,000 new cases identified daily in the country.
