Ministry of Intelligence Responds to Ahmadinejad’s Remarks About Security Mafia

An aide to the Minister of Intelligence responded to recent comments by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad regarding the existence of a security mafia gang within the Ministry of Intelligence. Iran’s former president had discussed the presence of an infiltrating network in the ministry during a controversial interview.

The Special Aide to the Minister of Intelligence on Sunday, June 13 (Khordad 23), responded to recent revelations by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about the existence of “a security mafia gang in the Ministry of Intelligence” in an interview with ISNA news agency.

The Special Aide to the Minister of Intelligence, who was not named, attributed Ahmadinejad’s statements to “paranoid delusions” on his part and advised him to “continue his psychotherapy and delusion-removal process.”

The Ministry of Intelligence’s response came immediately after the full text of Ahmadinejad’s remarks was published on the “Bahar Government” website and his complete interview was broadcast.

Revelations by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran’s former president and member of the Expediency Discernment Council, were also fully released on YouTube on Sunday.

Ahmadinejad had previously warned that the time for revelations would come. He has now made statements that, if any other person had made them, the judiciary or intelligence apparatus of the Guards would have dealt with that person.

However, the ninth and tenth government leader continues with his revelations. He recently said: “I have recorded the issues I am aware of and placed them in several secure locations.”

In the beginning of his 58-minute interview, he says that due to his revelations about the “corrupt security gang” and “dangers threatening the revolution and system,” the Ministry of Intelligence has formally threatened him.

Iran’s former president has even raised the possibility of his own assassination, saying “they will kill themselves, they will hold mourning ceremonies themselves, and then they will blame others.”

The Story of “Island Purchase and Officials’ Escape”

Ahmadinejad at the end of his interview brought up the matter of island purchase by officials again, saying “if the people’s anger rises, they will escape.”

Iran’s former president had previously said during a meeting with people in Ardabil province: “Some of these people have taken the money, they have even bought an island so that if the people’s anger rises one day, they can escape. They don’t know that if the people’s anger boils, they will have no peace on that island either.”

A member of the Expediency Discernment Council in his new interview describes these people as “a security gang with a number of officials and power-holders” who prevent people from reaching their rights.

He says: “These people only think of their own interests and outwardly present themselves as ultra-revolutionaries. The people’s rights, people’s interests, the values and ideals of the revolution, the country’s interests, the system, religion, and people’s faith are worthless to these people.”

Ahmadinejad in continuing his revelations said that he knows some of these people closely and has discussed matters with them. However, he did not name these people.

A member of the Expediency Discernment Council in continuing his remarks warned that “these people are more dangerous than ever today” but if the roads are closed, that is when their escape will come.

According to Ahmadinejad, these people also planned for an emergency. He says: “These people transferred a lot of financial resources out of the country. They prepared their residency documents, their relatives. These people have not refrained from committing any crime. I said before that a group and gang even bought an island, meaning they prepared all the facilities for the end of their mission. Now their feeling is that the time for escape is very near.”

The addressees of Ahmadinejad’s remarks are people who are present in governance. However, senior officials of the country have remained silent on this matter so far, and so far only the aide to the Minister of Intelligence has responded to Ahmadinejad’s remarks.

Many in Iran have said that if the remarks of Iran’s former president are true and such people exist, the judiciary should identify them and say where this island is that was purchased and who its owners are.

Ahmadinejad in the complete version of his video interview also spoke about the assassination of nuclear scientists, explosions at the Natanz facility, and the theft of Iran’s nuclear file in Turquzabad.
