Mohammad Ali Islami Nadoushan, renowned Iranian writer and researcher, died at age 97

Mohammad Ali Islami Nadoushan, a renowned Iranian writer and researcher who lived in Canada, passed away on the fifth of Ordibehesht at the age of 97.

Shirin Beyani, the spouse of Mr. Islami Nadoushan, announcing that this cultural figure “was not ill,” stated that his body will be laid to rest in Canada “according to Islamic custom.”

Mohammad Ali Islami Nadoushan was born in September 1925 (Shahrivar 1304 solar calendar) in Nadoushan, Yazd, and completed his education up to high school in the city of Yazd. He then moved to Tehran in 1944 (1323 solar calendar) to continue his studies and received his bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Tehran. He earned his doctorate in international law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Paris.

Mr. Islami Nadoushan returned to Iran in 1955 (1334 solar calendar) and served as a judge for several years. After leaving this profession, he dedicated himself to teaching at the University of Tehran and over 50 years authored more than 50 books and hundreds of articles on Iranian culture, history, and Persian literature.

Some of his works include: The Endless Story of Hafez, Four Spokesmen of Iran’s Conscience, Life and Death of Heroes in the Shahnameh, The Story of Stories, Cypress, Shadow-Maker, Iran and the World Through the Eyes of the Shahnameh, The Book of Notables, Let Us Not Forget Iran, In Pursuit of the Simorgh’s Shadow, Recounting the Virtues of Human Rights in the Third World, Let Us Hear the Words, Iran and Its Solitude, What Else Does Iran Have to Say?

In recent years, Mr. Islami Nadoushan lived in Canada with his children.
