Reports Emerge of Civilians Killed in Revolutionary Guards Attacks on Village in Zahedan County

Following artillery and ground attacks by military forces and the Revolutionary Guards on villages under Kurin in Zahedan County, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps announced that Ghalam Shah-Bakhsh and five members of his group were killed in the attack.

In this statement, these individuals were referred to as “armed miscreants.”

According to a statement by the Quds Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards’ Ground Forces, during clashes in southeastern Iran and the identification of the location of armed forces referred to in this statement as “armed miscreants,” Ghalam Shah-Bakhsh along with five others were killed.

According to reports from some media outlets, Revolutionary Guards forces launched a heavy attack starting Saturday on Shuro village, a subdivision of Kurin in Zahedan County, using heavy weapons and artillery, and engaged with Baluch citizens. As a result of these attacks, several civilians, including a woman and a twelve-year-old child, were also killed.

Some independent news sources in Sistan and Baluchestan have also reported the deaths of five Revolutionary Guards members named Mahdi Asghari, commander of the Revolutionary Guards in Kurin division, Mahdi Kouhestani, Azizollah Tohidi Bazi, Javad Shahbazi, and Hamed Shahraki. The IRNA news agency confirmed the death of four of these individuals.

Following clashes between the Shah-Bakhsh tribe, also known as Esmaeilzahi, and law enforcement forces last month, which resulted in the deaths of three police officers and one conscript soldier, Revolutionary Guards forces have subjected members of this tribe to extensive attacks.

Meanwhile, the Baluchestan Monitoring news website reported that after killing a Baluch woman and child, Revolutionary Guards forces used artillery attacks to force several Baluch citizens, including Mohammad-Ali Shah-Bakhsh and two others, into forced confessions. The identities of the detained individuals were listed as “Mohammad-Ali Shah-Bakhsh,” “Abdul-Wahab Shah-Bakhsh,” and “Zubair Shah-Bakhsh.”
