Massive Fire Breaks Out at Large Warehouse on Karaj Expressway

Reports indicate that a massive fire has broken out at one of the largest warehouses in the Karaj Expressway area, causing significant damages, and the fire is still ongoing.
The spokesman for Tehran’s Fire Department said on Monday, July 5th, that the fire occurred at a large warehouse in the Karaj Expressway area beyond Azadi Highway, which contains various goods, including household appliances.
Jalal Maleki told ISNA news agency that several warehouses at this location, each approximately 600 or 700 square meters in size, are currently burning.
Explaining that “very dense smoke is visible in the western and southern areas of Tehran as a result of this fire,” he said that firefighting personnel have been dispatched to the scene and added that there are no available reports regarding casualties from this incident.
Large-scale fires in Iran have increased recently, including the fire at the Zarand Steel Factory of Iranians in Kerman Province, the fire on the Kharg tanker that resulted in its sinking, and the massive fire at Tandgoyan Refinery in Tehran among recent cases.
On the third day of Tir, a major fire also occurred at a goods warehouse near Tehran’s bazaar.
Since last summer, there have also been several fires in Iran’s forests and rangelands, as well as incidents at some nuclear and missile centers and power plants, including a chemical industry factory on the outskirts of Qom.
