Security forces harassed and threatened mother of Vahid Damoor, killed in November 2019

The mother of Vahid Damoor, one of the casualties of November 2019, announced that security forces came to their house, removed all banners and posters of Vahid, and subjected the family to body searches, harassment, intimidation, and threats.
Mehnaz Karimi said in an Instagram conversation with Masih Alinejad: “They went across our neighbor’s roof to our roof and removed the banner with Vahid’s photo. For about a week, they had stationed an officer in front of our house. My son Saeed asked the officers why they were standing there. There were two officers and they drew weapons on my son. I told them, ‘You killed one of my sons, now do you want to kill another son of mine?'”
She continued: “They are even afraid of a photo of the dead. Today we went to our son’s grave for the anniversary. Plain-clothes officers gathered around us and were filming us to see who our guests were. I am not afraid of these people. They took my child from me. When we were returning from Vahid’s grave, five or six cars stopped us on the highway, made us get out, and told us to give them our phones. They told Vahid’s father and my daughter-in-law to give their phones.”
Regarding the blue ribbon, a symbol of seeking justice, Vahid Damoor’s mother said: “The day they arrested me, they asked me what this thing was that I had. I said this is a blue ribbon that is a symbol of seeking justice. They cut it with scissors right there and told me, ‘Don’t do this again or I will kill you.’ I said, ‘Go ahead and kill me.’ They said, ‘We will send you to prison,’ I said, ‘Go ahead and send me.’ What are you threatening me with?'”
Vahid Damoor, born in June 1989, was killed on November 26, 2019, in Karaj by a stray bullet.
