Students Summoned to University Security Ahead of Mahsa Amini Anniversary and Popular Uprising

The Student Council Federation reported the summoning of several students to university security due to the approaching anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death and the reopening of universities.
According to student councils across the country, at least 30 students at Shahid Beheshti University were summoned to the university’s security office in recent days. According to the student council’s statements, they were required to sign a commitment not to participate in potential protests in the new semester. It is worth noting that students who refused to sign the commitment were threatened by security with prevention from graduation.
The student council, while not referring to the students’ identities, stated that the reason for their summoning was the approaching anniversary of Mahsa Amini and the reopening of universities, as well as the possibility of protests on campus.
Many students at various universities in other provinces have also been threatened with expulsion and dismissal in exchange for participating in protests. However, allied students, while pleased with the regime’s fear of student uprisings and their threats regarding participation in protests, prefer expulsion and dismissal over silence in the face of oppression, and will join faculty members in participating in popular protests on the designated day.
