Suicide of an 11-Year-Old Girl in Tehran

On Sunday, the 22nd of Farvardin, an 11-year-old girl in Tehran took her own life by hanging and died. According to the Medical Examiner’s Organization, the share of Iranian adolescents in annual suicides has been reported to exceed 7 percent.

According to Hrana news agency, citing RENA, on Sunday, the 22nd of Farvardin 1400, an adolescent girl in Tehran took her own life by hanging and died.

Based on this report, the incident occurred when the girl’s mother left the house and she was alone in the house with her sister.

Her 14-year-old sister told officers: “I was busy with my mobile phone when I noticed I didn’t hear any sound from my sister. Suddenly I saw that she had hanged herself with a towel strap on the door frame.”

The cause of suicide has not yet been determined precisely, and the body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for necessary examinations.

According to the Medical Examiner’s Organization, the share of Iranian adolescents in annual suicides has been reported to exceed 7 percent.
