Trump: Ground Forces Won’t Be Needed If Iran Is Attacked

The President of the United States declared in an interview with an American news network that ground forces will not be used in the event of an attack on Iran. Trump simultaneously emphasized that he does not want war with Iran.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated on Wednesday, June 26 (5th of Tir) in an interview with the “Fox Business” network that ground forces will not be used in a potential military attack on Iran.

The American President said he believes war with Iran would not be a major problem for the United States, but he does not want war with Iran. However, if it comes to war, his country has a “very strong” position, such that such a war would not last long and there would be no need for ground forces.

On the previous day (Tuesday, June 25 / 4th of Tir), the American President spoke in three consecutive tweets in a sharp tone with the officials of the Islamic Republic. Donald Trump wrote in one of these tweets that the leaders of Iran will never understand what “kindness” and “compassion” mean. Unfortunately, the only thing they understand is power and force.

In another tweet, he wrote that the great people of Iran are suffering without any reason. Their leaders spend all the country’s money on assassination and have little for other things. America has not forgotten that Iran killed and wounded two thousand Americans with roadside bombs. Trump’s reference was to the killing of American soldiers in Iraq.

In his third tweet, the American President wrote: “The ignorant and insulting statement that Iran released today shows that they do not understand reality. Any attack by Iran against American targets will be met with great and powerful force. Strong in some areas means devastating. No more news from John Kerry and Obama!”

This Trump tweet was likely his reaction to Hassan Rouhani’s remarks yesterday, in which he described Trump as someone who had “lost his mind” and characterized the sanctions against Ayatollah Khamenei and his office as evidence of “America’s deception in proposing negotiations.”

The American President seeks unconditional negotiations with Iran, but Iranian officials have made any negotiations conditional on America’s return to the JCPOA and the lifting of sanctions. Hassan Rouhani said on the evening of Tuesday, 4th of Tir, in a phone call with Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, that conditions will not change until America lifts all sanctions against Iran.
