Two Kurdish Sunni Clerics Summoned to Hamadan Special Clerical Court

Two Kurdish Sunni clerics have been summoned to the Hamadan Special Clerical Court through a court notice.
Sunni clerics have delivered speeches against the Islamic Republic system in support of protesting people since the beginning of the protests. Additionally, since the beginning of the current year, at least 6 Kurdish Sunni clerics have been convicted by the Hamadan Special Clerical Court to punitive imprisonment, suspended sentences, flogging, and defrocking for delivering speeches in support of public protests.
The identities of the aforementioned Sunni clerics are “Mawlavi Hossein Alimiradi,” “Mawlavi Saberkhoda Miradi,” “Mawlavi Arman Sadeghi,” “Seyyed Jalal Akbari,” “Mawlavi Madah Karami,” and “Mawlavi Abdoljabar Lotfi,” confirmed in the cities of Sanandaj, Saghez, Dehgolan, and Saroabad.
Now “Mawlavi Ibrahim Karimi Nanleh,” imam of the central mosque in the village of “Nanleh,” and “Mawlavi Luqman Amini,” imam of the central mosque of “Chahar Yaar Nabi” in Sanandaj city, have been summoned to the Hamadan Special Clerical Court.
Ibrahim Karimi and Luqman Amini were arrested by security forces in November 2022 on the Sanandaj to Marivan road. After Ibrahim Karimi’s arrest, regime forces raided his home and conducted a search. The two clerics were temporarily released on March 24, 2023 on bail.
According to the Kurdish Human Rights Network, in the court notice issued for these two clerics, they must appear before the Hamadan Special Clerical Court on Wednesday, June 7.
