Workers of ‘Alborz Mall Project’ in Karaj Hold Protest Rally in Front of Saman Bank in Tehran

A group of workers from the ‘Alborz Mall Project’ in Karaj held a protest rally in front of the central building of Saman Bank in Tehran.
The Free Union of Workers Telegram channel reported on Monday, Khordad 13, that a group of workers from the Alborz Mall Project in Karaj gathered in protest against their job and livelihood uncertainty on Sunday, Khordad 12, in front of the central building of Saman Bank located on Valieasr Street in Tehran.
The protesting workers demanded the payment of more than one year of overdue wages from Saman Bank.
According to one of the protesting workers, the Alborz Mall Project is the first major commercial project in Alborz Province and Saman Bank is also one of the major shareholders of this project. Due to the project’s high debt to Saman Bank, the project was completely handed over to Saman Bank on the second day of Esfand 97.
Another staff member and engineer of this project said that Saman Bank’s security personnel treated workers inappropriately and unethically during this rally, and Saman Bank’s legal department has taken no action in response to this volume of protest and only resorts to making empty promises, with no plan to pay the project personnel.
According to the protesters, the project’s staff and workers are owed overdue wages from the previous company for a year and a half, and according to law, Saman Bank should be responsible for these debts, but so far has taken no action to collect the claims of these individuals.
