U.S. Department of Justice Seizes Weapons Sent by IRGC to Yemen

The U.S. Department of Justice announced legal measures to confiscate weapons sent by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to Yemen.
Following a complaint released by the U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday, it intends to seize weapons sent by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for Yemen, including 9,000 rifles, 284 machine guns, 194 rocket launchers, 70 guided anti-tank missiles, and approximately 700,000 bullets that have been seized since 2021.
The U.S. Navy stated in its announcement that these weapons were manufactured by Iran, China, and Russia, and their seizure demonstrates America’s ongoing efforts to combat arms smuggling by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Additionally, Matthew Graves, one of the prosecutors in Washington D.C., described this action by the Department of Justice as a step to prevent violence and bloodshed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and emphasized the use of all available tools to counter terrorist threats to global security.
Matthew Olsen, Deputy Attorney General of the United States and head of the National Security Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, also stated on this matter: “The Iranian government, through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and in violation of American sanctions and international law, continues to smuggle military weapons to paramilitary groups.”
The U.S. Department of Justice also announced in April of the current year (2023) that it would seize more than one million bullets, thousands of explosive charges for grenade launchers, and thousands of kilograms of RPG propellant that had been discovered by the U.S. Navy in recent months.
