Fire at Tehran refinery leaves one dead

The Tehran Oil Refining Company's public relations department announced on Wednesday, June 4, that one person was killed and another was injured in a fire at the Tehran refinery.
Reports indicate that a fire broke out at Khuzestan Steel on the same day.
Yesterday, a massive fire was reported in passenger train carriages in Islamshahr, and in recent days, various reports have been made of fires in forests, pastures in the country, and also in Chitgar Park in Tehran.
Hamidreza Jafari, the public relations manager of Tehran's Shahid Tondgoyan Refinery, told IRNA on Wednesday that a gasoline leak and rapid ignition in one of the Tehran refinery's units on Wednesday resulted in the death of one worker and the injury of another.
He said the gasoline leak and its combination with ambient oxygen caused rapid ignition, surprising workers on the refinery's production line.
IRNA reported that the refinery fire has been contained.
In November 2017, a fire at one of the Tehran Oil Refinery units killed eight engineers and technicians. The cause of the fire was also reported to be an oil leak.
At the same time, Iranian media reported that part of the warehouses of the Khuzestan Steel Company had caught fire.
Tasnim News Agency reported at 20:30 Tehran time, quoting Ebrahim Ghanbari, CEO of the Ahvaz Municipality Fire and Safety Services Organization, that the fire is still burning in parts of the company's warehouses, and officials are preventing the fire from spreading to other parts of the company.
However, at the same time as this report was published, the IRNA news agency reported, citing Ali Mohammadi, CEO of Khuzestan Steel Company, that the fire was contained "in a timely manner."
He also said that no damage was caused to the warehouses and industrial site of the Khuzestan Steel Company in the fire.
On Tuesday, Iranian media reported a fire that engulfed passenger carriages in Islamshahr. Masoud Mursalpour, the governor of Islamshahr, told Mehr News Agency that the carriages were worn out.
According to this report, 18 wagons caught fire, and the cause is still unknown.
Over the past few days, various reports have been published of widespread fires in the forests and pastures of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Lorestan, Ilam, and Khuzestan.
Iranian media also reported on Monday evening, June 12, a massive fire in Chitgar Park in Tehran, which is said to have been intentional.
