Execution of two prisoners in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz

HRANA News Agency – At dawn today, Tuesday, June 8, the death sentences of two prisoners were carried out in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz. These citizens had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases on charges of murder.

According to HRANA news agency, citing the Ahvaz Human Rights Organization, two prisoners were executed this morning, Tuesday, June 17, 2022, in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz.

The prisoners have been identified as “Majid Amori, son of Naji, 25 years old, from the city of Ramshir, and Ghadir Naseri, 23 years old, from Bandar Mahshahr.” According to the Ahvaz Human Rights Organization, Ghadir Naseri was under eighteen years old at the time of his arrest.

According to the report, when Ghadir Naseri was 17 years old, security forces went to his father’s house in Bandar Mahshahr to arrest him. This led to an armed clash and the deaths of two security forces, Mohammad Reza Rafiei-Nasab and Allah Nazar Safari. Mr. Naseri was ultimately sentenced to death for the murder of these officers.

Majid Amori had previously been arrested following a fight that resulted in murder and sentenced to death for the same charge. He had previously been transferred to a solitary confinement cell in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz on March 4, 2021, to serve his sentence.
