Elham Samimi was arrested by security forces.

On Tuesday, December 25, Elham Samimi, a student at the University of Tehran, was arrested by security forces. Previously, on October 15, the student's home was searched by officers and he himself was threatened with summons and security and judicial action.

According to HRANA news agency, citing the channel of the country's student union councils, today, Tuesday, December 24, 2020, Elham Samimi, an anthropology student at the University of Tehran, was arrested by security forces.

According to the report, Elham Samimi was interrogated many times in one of the security institutions' detention centers in Evin Prison and in the security forces' safe houses on Labafinejad Street in Tehran before his arrest. Following his refusal to return to the safe house for further interrogation, he and his family faced threats from the security forces.

He was finally arrested today under pressure from security forces after being held in Evin Prison.

On Friday, October 15, the student's home was searched by security forces. After searching the home, the officers confiscated a number of Ms. Samimi's personal belongings and took them away. Ms. Samimi was threatened by the officers with summons and security and judicial action.
