A 48-hour closure order has been issued to union branches in northern Tehran.

The Tehran Trade Unions Association says that due to weather conditions, trade unions in northern Tehran have been ordered to suspend their activities for 48 hours.
Colonel Taghi Afrand, deputy head of Tehran Police Headquarters, said that this order has been issued to "union units located in Darband, Darakeh, Fasham, Lavasan, Farahzad, Kan, and Sulqan."
Mr. Efrand also added, "The managers of the business units located in these areas have been notified to refrain from providing any services to customers."
Tehran police have asked citizens of the capital to avoid these areas.
Earlier, the Director General of Tehran Province's Crisis Management Department, referring to the announcement by the National Meteorological Organization about heavy rainfall and flooding in Tehran Province's rivers, said: "The possibility of flooding in rivers and streams in Tehran Province is not far-fetched."
Floods and crises caused by rainfall, overflowing rivers, and their destruction have so far killed and injured dozens of citizens. In Shiraz alone, at least 19 people have lost their lives and more than a hundred have been injured in the past few hours.
