Prince Reza Pahlavi: A revolution similar to the 1979 revolution is taking place

In an interview, Prince Reza Pahlavi announced the occurrence of a revolution similar to the 1979 Revolution.

In an interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph on Sunday, February 23, Prince Reza Pahlavi spoke about the conditions for a revolution in Iran and stated that the opportunity for such a change may only last a few months.

Noting that a revolution similar to the 1979 revolution is taking shape in Iran, he emphasized: “The West must prepare for the imminent collapse of the Islamic Republic and support the growing wave of opposition in Iran.” He also announced: “The situation of the Islamic Republic is critical economically at home and militarily abroad, and this system is also dying ideologically.”

“There is a vital window of opportunity to change history,” Prince Pahlavi said in the interview. “It may only be open for a few months, but now is the time to act. Iran is in the throes of revolution, or at least pre-revolution. The Islamic Republic is rapidly losing its authority, even among its long-time supporters. Western governments should seize this opportunity to help the Iranians build a secular democracy through civil disobedience.”

He also referred to the West's approach towards the Islamic Republic and said: "What we have told the Americans and Europeans is not to jump straight to conflict and war from failed diplomacy. There is also a third option that is considered the best option against the Islamic Republic, and that is the Iranian people."

Prince Pahlavi emphasized: "The regime is in its most vulnerable and weakest state, and at the same time, our nation has never been so ready for change."

The Telegraph also pointed to the increasing protests by different segments of the Iranian people and the slogans that people chant in the streets every day, and wrote: "Even Reza Pahlavi's critics admit that he at least has a plan to change the situation in Iran and enjoys public fame both at home and abroad. Prince Pahlavi's words are what he wanted to tell Western governments at the Munich Security Conference: that engagement with the Islamic Republic regime has failed, but military action should be avoided if possible."

Reza Pahlavi also said regarding regime change: "Regime change in Iran has nothing to do with what the West, and especially the United States, experienced in Afghanistan and Iraq after September 11."

At the Geneva Human Rights Conference on February 19, he also outlined his five-point strategy for overthrowing the Islamic Republic, while referring to the conditions prevailing in Iranian society and the government's destructive actions. He said that he would lead the movement and transfer of power at the request of the Iranian people.
