Rouhani's advisor: They have not yet given the president a clear report on the deaths in November 2019

Hesameddin Ashena, an advisor to Hassan Rouhani, has said that the Iranian president has not yet received a "clear and defensible report on the deaths of Aban."
In an interview published in the Andisheh Pouya magazine, he did not explain which institution should submit this report, but he said that regarding the number of deaths in November 2019, "the law enforcement forces say one thing, the Ministry of Interior says another, and the Ministry of Health says another number."
Mr. Ashena has emphasized that Hassan Rouhani "is not someone who said to kill people" and "has no report on this incident."
Different reports have been published so far about the number of deaths in the November 2019 protests.
On January 19, 2019, Reuters reported that the Leader of the Islamic Republic "ordered the bloodiest crackdown on protesters" in the past four decades, and that 1,500 people were killed during these protests.
Amnesty International, in a report published in early June, said that at least 304 people were killed during the November 2019 protests in 37 cities and eight provinces of Iran.
However, Amnesty International says the actual number of those killed in November 2019 was likely much higher.
Inside Iran, on June 12, Mojtaba Zolnour, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, claimed that "230 people have been killed" during these protests.
On June 10, Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli also said that between 200 and 225 people were killed in the November 2019 protests.
The protests in November last year took place in many Iranian cities following the government's sudden decision to increase gasoline prices by 200 percent, but were met with repression by security forces.
The Islamic Republic's security and intelligence agencies, along with the crackdowns, also completely cut off the internet in the country.
