MP: Our economic problems will not be solved without solving problems with the world

The Shiraz MP said that if the Islamic Republic does not resolve its political problems with the world, Iran’s economic problems will not be resolved either. Masoud Rezaei also considered social harms “a serious threat to the system and sovereignty in the long term.”

According to Masoud Rezaei, a representative from Shiraz in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, if the Iranian government cannot resolve its political problems with the world, the country's economic problems will not be resolved.

In his interview with Etemad Online, the text of which was published on Saturday, September 29, the Iranian MP also warned about social harms as a threat to the "system and sovereignty."

Referring to unemployment as one of the most important social problems in Iran, Masoud Rezaei said: "The problem of unemployment and lack of jobs exposes young people to all social problems, and the combination of these problems threatens the system and governance in the long term."

This member of the Iranian Parliament's Social Affairs Commission noted: "We all know that employment is created through investment, and until investment is made, we will not have production and employment will not be provided."

Rezaei added: "Therefore, to invest and create production and employment, we need to attract foreign capital alongside domestic capital, and in these sanctions conditions, we cannot solve the problems of production and employment alone with domestic investors."

The MP expressed regret over the "vulnerability of domestic and foreign investment in bad economic and sanctions conditions," and said: "If we cannot first resolve our political problems with the world, we will not be able to do anything in the economic field."

Referring to the "chain-like" connection of these problems, Masoud Rezaei added: "The lack of employment, the stagnation of production, and the disarray of the youth's conditions are the result, but if we can solve our political problems with the world through collective wisdom and prudence, we can definitely use foreign capital to support domestic power."

This member of parliament has called for the Islamic Republic's political problems with the world to be resolved, while the Leader of the Islamic Republic has not only considered the path to negotiations with the United States "closed", but has also called for a complete "breakdown" of hope from Europe.

Last Thursday, Ali Khamenei called Europe and America "evil" and emphasized that "the motives of European hostility towards the Islamic Republic are no different in principle from the hostility of the United States," adding: "Europeans appear to be acting as mediators and talk long words, but all of them are nonsense."

The Leader of the Islamic Republic also emphasized that "the cure for the country's issues and problems is to insist on revolutionary slogans and the path," and recommended that "forces loyal to the revolution be used to "be present in sensitive centers" of Iran.

In such circumstances, it seems that not only has there been no development to resolve the tension between Iran and the United States, but the current trend could also lead Europe into a new round of tension with the Islamic Republic.

The International Atomic Energy Agency announced in its latest report last Thursday that Iran has violated the nuclear agreement known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) by enriching uranium using advanced centrifuges and plans to install other advanced devices of this type.

A day after this report, some media outlets reported that the three remaining European countries in the JCPOA, namely Britain, France, and Germany, have warned the Islamic Republic that they will withdraw from the JCPOA if Iran's fourth step in reducing its nuclear commitments is "significant."
