“30% of Iranian citizens have mental disorders related to coronavirus”

Iran's Ministry of Health has reported an increase in mental disorders, especially in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. Mental disorders have been more severe among those who have either contracted the coronavirus themselves or lost a loved one.
The results of a study on mental disorders caused by the coronavirus pandemic, conducted on 25,000 Iranian citizens, have been published.
A website affiliated with the Islamic Republic's State Broadcasting Corporation (SRSG) has published a report on the increase in mental disorders among people in connection with the consequences of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Ahmad Nourbala, secretary of the specialized mental health committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Health, has said that 29.7 percent of the Iranian population suffers from mental disorders.
It should be noted that the results of a survey of the mental health of Iranians conducted in January of last year indicated that about 15% of the population had been affected by the coronavirus at that time.
Research identifying mental disorders in 30% of Iranian citizens was conducted before the fifth peak of the coronavirus pandemic began, and in other words, the dimensions of the disorders are now more widespread than when this research was conducted.
According to Nurbala, "The findings show that Covid-19 has exacerbated mental disorders, and those who have been affected by Corona and have lost a relative are more likely to suffer from mental disorders."
