Two Border Guards Killed in Sistan and Baluchestan Province

The Sistan and Baluchestan Border Guard Command reported the killing of two border guards in Saravan. Iranian media and officials have not commented on the details of this incident. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the death of the border guards.

The Sistan and Baluchestan Border Guard Command announced on Thursday, April 26 (April 15) the deaths of Corporal Abolfazl Hashemi from Zahedan city and Corporal Mohammad Nasiri from Zabol city in Sistan and Baluchestan through a statement.

Both killed border guards were assigned to the Saravan Border Guard station in eastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, and as stated in the Border Guard Command’s statement, both died “as martyrs” while on duty.

The Sistan and Baluchestan Border Guard Command’s statement provided no details about the incident that resulted in the death of the border guards.

Two days before this incident, Hossein Keikhah, the police commander of Iranshahr in Sistan and Baluchestan province, had announced that unknown armed individuals opened fire on a vehicle carrying two border guards from the Negor Border Guard station who were returning from leave and heading to their duty post, resulting in the death of one border guard and minor injuries to another.

The cause and exact details of this incident have not yet been announced, and no group has claimed responsibility for such attacks and military operations so far.
