Hamdi Mahboubian's limb was amputated due to a mine explosion

Hamdi Mahbobian from Kamyaran was disabled by a landmine explosion.
Hamdi Mahbubian, a Kurdish citizen from Kamyaran, was severely injured and had his leg amputated by a landmine explosion.
According to statistics recorded in the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Human Rights Organization "He Ngaw", four Kurdish citizens were victims of landmine explosions in the past three days, one of whom lost his life. According to reports from this organization, on Thursday, April 29, Hamdi Mahboubian, 48, an employee of the Telecommunications Department, had gone to the "Pearl Necklace" for a mission at his workplace when he was involved in this accident and was severely injured and lost his leg as a result of the explosion.
After a landmine explosion and the amputation of his leg, he was transferred to Kausar Hospital in Sanandaj and is now under intensive care.
According to published statistics, 6 million hectares of Iranian soil are contaminated with mines and there are more than 20 million mines throughout Iran. The provinces of Ilam, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, and Urmia have the highest number of planted mines due to their security and border status.
Yesterday's accident occurred while the work of clearing mine-contaminated areas in the Kurdistan and southwestern regions of Iran began in 1987 by the IRGC and Basij forces, and from 1998 to 2003 it was the responsibility of the Ministry of Interior, and since 2004, this clearing has been the responsibility of the National Mine Action Center affiliated with the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Support. However, many Kurdish citizens in the aforementioned areas have still lost their lives or suffered limb disabilities.
