Users living in and around Manchester kept hope alive in the darkness of this eerie night by offering simple but encouraging suggestions, emphasizing that humanity has not diminished.
Someone wrote, "If you need a place to sleep or a hot cup of tea, if you need to charge your phone, I'm only fifteen minutes from the Manchester Concert Hall, message me."
Another said her husband was driving down the street to pick up anyone who needed a ride.
Hotels near the scene of the incident also announced via Twitter that they had empty rooms and could keep the children for free until their parents could find them.
Sympathy of the stars
Twitter was also filled with expressions of sympathy from stars in the world of art and entertainment.
Ariana Grande, the singer whose concert was bombed, wrote: "I am devastated, I am so sorry with all my heart, I have no words to express my feelings."
Katy Perry said: "My heart aches for the families of the victims. For Ariana too, and of course for the state of the world."

But it wasn't just singers. Footballers who have played for Manchester United also took to Twitter to express their sympathy for the victims.
From Wayne Rooney to Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham, who said he was heartbroken both as a father and as a human being.
