170,000 Students Remain Out of School in Primary Levels

The head of the Center for Measurement and Monitoring of Education reported the dropout of 170,000 students in primary levels from education across the country.

According to HRANA news agency citing Mehr, Mohsen Zarei, head of the Center for Measurement and Monitoring of Education, on the sidelines of a one-day visit to Semnan Province said: In the academic year 1400-01, unfortunately through monitoring conducted, we discovered the dropout of 210,000 students only in the primary level throughout the country.

Stating that after identifying the students, efforts to recruit these individuals were placed on the agenda, he emphasized: through the efforts made, we were able to witness the return of 39,000 students to educational settings.

The head of the Center for Measurement and Monitoring of Education, stating that nonetheless 170,000 other students still remain out of school, added: This dropout has various causes, but unfortunately it must be said that coronavirus conditions exacerbated it and made the work of the Ministry of Education more difficult.
