Agreement Between ‘Nasrin Sotoudeh’ and Her Husband with Ministry of Intelligence to Discredit Prince Reza Pahlavi

Nasrin Sotoudeh and her husband reached an agreement with the Ministry of Intelligence to discredit Prince Reza Pahlavi and the monarchy issue in a CNN interview.

Nasrin Sotoudeh Langaroudi is a legal expert, lawyer, and human rights activist. She was introduced by Time magazine in 2021 as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Ms. Sotoudeh, who has been a member of the Human Rights Defenders Association and head of the One Million Signatures Campaign to change discriminatory laws against women and the Children’s Rights Support Association, has now reached an agreement with the Ministry of Intelligence for an interview with CNN network.

According to “Damavand,” a person close to Nasrin Sotoudeh and her husband Reza Khanadan confirmed that their recent CNN interview was conducted in complete coordination with the Ministry of Intelligence and in acceptance of the conditions set by officials of that ministry.

The aforementioned person, who is closely associated with matters related to Nasrin Sotoudeh and her husband, said: “After CNN network raised the request for an interview with this couple, Nasrin Sotoudeh discussed the matter with her case manager at the Ministry of Intelligence, and the Ministry of Intelligence officials not only had no objection to conducting this interview but also welcomed it under certain conditions.

The Ministry of Intelligence’s condition for Nasrin Sotoudeh’s interview with her husband on CNN was that they should blame Prince Reza Pahlavi and the monarchy movement for the failure of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” revolution and declare that this movement does not have serious support within the country.

The Ministry of Intelligence’s condition for issuing permission for this couple’s interview with CNN not only faced no opposition from Nasrin Sotoudeh and her husband, but Reza Khanadan, stating that such a point is in line with their own analysis, accepted presenting it in the CNN interview.

The exact reason for Nasrin Sotoudeh and Reza Khanadan’s agreement with the Ministry of Intelligence regarding discrediting the monarchy issue and its supporters, as well as discrediting Prince Reza Pahlavi, is unclear.
