Ansiyeh Khezali Appointed as Deputy to President for Women and Family Affairs

Ibrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has appointed Ansiyeh Khezali to the position of Deputy to the President for Women and Family Affairs through an official decree.
Ansiyeh Khezali is the daughter of Ayatollah Khezali, a principlist clergyman who passed away in 2015. Her sister, Kabri Khezali, is also the head of the Cultural and Social Council for Women and Family at the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.
According to ISNA, Ansiyeh Khezali was born in 1342 (1963) in Qom and holds a doctorate in Arabic language and literature. She has completed her seminary education up to level 3 at the Qom Seminary for Women.
Among Khezali’s background are the presidency of Alzahra University, the presidency of the Razavi University campus, and membership in the faculty of the university.
During Hassan Rouhani’s administration, Shahindokht Molaverdi and Massoumeh Ebtekar served as deputies for women and family affairs, and their performance was consistently subject to severe criticism from conservatives.
