Arrest of Nazanin Mohammadnejad by Security Forces in Ahvaz

Nazanin Mohammadnejad, a former student activist, was arrested by security forces on Tuesday night, December 9, at her father’s residence in Ahvaz and transferred to an unknown location.

According to Hrana news agency, the news organ of the Iranian Human Rights Activists Network, on the night of Tuesday, December 9, 2020, Nazanin Mohammadnejad, a student and former student activist, was arrested by security forces at her father’s residence in Ahvaz and transferred to an unknown location.

On Wednesday, December 10, security forces contacted the family of this citizen and asked them to refrain from publicizing information about her arrest. In this contact, they claimed that they would inform Ms. Mohammadnejad’s family about her situation within the next 10 days.

As of the time of preparing this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for her arrest, the charges brought against her, or her place of detention.

Nazanin Mohammadnejad is a student and former student activist at Tehran and Allameh Tabatabai universities and is a resident of Ahvaz.
