German police searched homes of Islamists in Bremen

German police conducted searches of homes and shops belonging to Islamists in the city of Bremen on Tuesday. Due to “urgent threats,” police officers from various German states participated in this extensive operation.

German police conducted searches of homes and shops of suspected Islamists in different neighborhoods of Bremen on Tuesday morning (April 26/May 7). According to reports from the German news agency, police officers from other German states assisted their colleagues in Bremen during this investigation.

The reason for the police raid is said to be “urgent threats” that have been reported from Salafi groups in Bremen. The local newspaper “Weser Kurier” has also published a report on this matter.

The German prosecutor’s office is expected to hold a press conference in the coming hours regarding the results of this investigation and search.
