Greek Orthodox Church: Muslims and Christians in Palestine are being slaughtered
A priest of the Greek Orthodox Church emphasized that Muslims and Christians in Palestine are being slaughtered.
“Elias Awad,” a priest of the Greek Orthodox Church, stated following the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip that Muslims and Christians in Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, are being slaughtered and subjected to genocide.
Elias Awad called for an end to this massacre and urged world authorities to take necessary measures to stop the war in Gaza.
He further stated in his remarks: “The people of Palestine, whether Christian or Muslim, are one. Therefore, what Muslims face, Christians also face. We all stand in the same line, defending Palestine and our holy sites, particularly the city of Jerusalem which is facing Judaization. We come these days from a wounded Palestine where its people, especially in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, are being slaughtered and detained.”
Elias Awad, pointing out that peace in the Middle East is achieved through the establishment of a Palestinian state, continued: “As Palestinians, we are the first to extend our hands toward peace. Peace that brings security for all people. The world must stop the destructive war and the massacre of innocent children and women in Gaza. What is happening is extremely dangerous. We urge all people in the world to stand by the Palestinian cause for the establishment of a free and independent Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.”
