Sealing of ‘Namakdan’ Building in Isfahan and a Café-Restaurant in Kerman

The ‘Namakdan’ building in Isfahan and a café-restaurant in Kerman were sealed due to non-compliance with mandatory hijab regulations.

The sealing of recreational centers, restaurants, café-restaurants, shops and other establishments began months ago for various reasons, including non-compliance with mandatory hijab regulations, and with the beginning of Ramadan, the sealing of these establishments intensified.

According to published reports, yesterday, Sunday, the 5th of Farvardin 1403, the Namakdan building in Isfahan, which is a monument from the Qajar era, was sealed by the Office of Supervision of Public Places due to non-compliance with mandatory hijab regulations.

The Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Kerman also announced the sealing of a café-restaurant in the city. According to the statement of ‘Mehdi Bakhshi,’ this café-restaurant, which is located on the tourist route of ‘Haft Bagh Alavi’ in Kerman, was sealed due to non-compliance with hijab and Islamic principles, and several citizens, including the proprietor of this establishment, were arrested.

He claimed that the operators of this café-restaurant, while failing to comply with hijab and Islamic principles, through norm-violating measures and compromising public morality in cyberspace, had caused public discontent, and upon the order of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Kerman Province and the follow-up of the Assistant for Public Rights of the Prosecutor’s Office, this establishment was sealed.

Many business establishments and tourist accommodations are sealed for various reasons, including non-compliance with mandatory hijab regulations, performance of live music, dancing, and rhythmic movements by their operators, and with the beginning of Ramadan in the new year, sealing these establishments due to food service has been added to the reasons.
