Pressure continues on women's rights activists; another member of the "Voice of Iranian Women" association arrested

Asrin Darkale, a women's rights activist and member of the "Voice of Iranian Women", was arrested by security forces.
Firuzeh Sharafeddin, the mother of Asrin Derkale, announced on her personal Instagram page that the women's rights activist was arrested on the street by Intelligence Department agents on Sunday, August 26, and after being transferred to the Garmsar Prosecutor's Office, the civil activist was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
According to published information, after arresting Ms. Derkale, officers went to the home of this civil activist and searched her home and confiscated her mobile phone.
The "Voice of Iranian Women" association is made up of a group of active women who help vulnerable women in society with issues such as literacy.
The mother of this member of the Iranian Women's Voice, declaring her daughter's innocence, wrote in another Instagram post that yesterday, Asrin Derkale, in a phone call to her father from Evin Prison, said that she would probably be able to meet her family on Monday, August 28. However, on Monday, when the family visited Evin Prison, they were informed that the women's rights activist "had just been arrested and is still under interrogation."
Previously, Asrin Derkale was summoned to the Evin Prison court on Sunday, June 16.
In recent months, a number of women's rights activists, including Maryam Mohammadi, Nahid Shaghaghi, and Akram Nasirian, were arrested by security agents and taken to prison.
Nahid Shaghaghi, a women's and children's rights activist who has given lectures on violence against women at seminars organized by the Iranian Women's Voice group for the past few years, was arrested on Wednesday, May 15, after security officers stormed her home and broke down her door, and was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
Akram Nasirian, another member of the Voice of Iranian Women, who was arrested on the street by security agents on Monday, May 29, and transferred to Evin Prison, was temporarily released from prison on June 25 after posting bail until the end of the trial.
On the other hand, Maryam Mohammadi was also arrested by security forces at her home on Monday, July 8th.
In February last year, Amnesty International called 2018 the "year of shame" for the Islamic Republic in a report, announcing that 112 women's rights activists had been arrested in Iran this year.
