Syria’s Rulers: Interference in Women’s Clothing and Hijab is Prohibited

Syria’s new rulers, according to a new directive, announced a ban on interference in women’s clothing and hijab.

The issue of hijab in Islamic countries has become a major challenge in people’s lives, to the extent that the issue of not wearing hijab receives more attention than important national matters, and has sometimes created obstacles in people’s daily lives.

In this regard, Syria’s military command issued new directives regarding women’s clothing in Syria. Syria’s general command stated in the aforementioned directive: “Interference in women’s clothing or imposing any requests related to the clothing or appearance of women, including requests for hijab, is completely prohibited. We emphasize that personal freedom is guaranteed for all, and respect for individuals’ rights is the foundation for building a civilized nation.”

The directive issued by Syria’s military command, a Muslim country like Iran, comes at a time when the hijab issue in Iran has become a major problem, and failure to comply with it results in people being arrested and subjected to heavy penalties.
