Iran Air signs deal to purchase 20 aircraft from European company

A European company that manufactures passenger aircraft announced the signing of a contract worth several hundred million dollars with Iran Air.
According to Kansas.com, the Italian-French company ATR announced on Thursday, April 14, that it has signed a contract to sell at least 20 passenger aircraft to Iran Air. The contract is valued at $536 million.
ATR spokesman David Vargas said on Thursday that a deal had been finalized to sell 20 ATR 72-600 passenger planes, each with a capacity of 70 passengers. The ATR spokesman added that under the deal, Iran Air has the option to purchase 20 more aircraft from the company.
Vargas declined to disclose the exact value of the contract, saying that $536 million refers only to the portion of the contract that has already been approved, and that the discounts that Iran Air will be eligible for have not yet been included in this price.
Meanwhile, Iran's State Television and Radio Broadcasting has announced the value of the contract at $400 million.
