4,000 People Infected with Influenza in Iran; 19 More Patients Have Died

Qasem Janbabai, Deputy Minister of Treatment at Iran’s Ministry of Health, stated that in recent days, 4,000 people have been hospitalized due to influenza infection.

According to this official, influenza has started three weeks earlier than in previous years.

 

Meanwhile, Alireza Raisi, Deputy Minister of Health at Iran’s Ministry of Health, announced that 19 more people have died so far due to infection with this disease.

Officials at the Ministry of Health announced on December 27 that 37 people had become victims of this disease.

He described the speed of spread of this disease as “very severe” and stated: “Golestan, Mazandaran, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Kerman, and Khuzestan provinces are the provinces where the highest incidence and spread of influenza has been reported.”

This Ministry of Health official said that the influenza wave will continue for two more weeks.
