6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Hormozgan

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck regions of Hormozgan province on Thursday morning, March 17th.
According to Iran’s television news network, the earthquake occurred at 2:45 AM local time in Bastak County.
According to the National Seismology Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in western Hormozgan, Bastak County, 27 kilometers west of Kokherd at a depth of 10 kilometers underground.
No reports of casualties or material damage from the earthquake have been released yet.
Mehrdad Hasanzadeh, the director general of crisis management at Hormozgan Province’s governorate, said: “Assessment teams were immediately dispatched to the area and are currently surveying the region to identify any possible damages.”
