Arrest of “Amir Shah-Valayati” and “Matin Hasani” – Victims of Nationwide Protests

“Amir Shah-Valayati” and “Matin Hasani,” victims of eye injuries sustained during nationwide protests, were arrested yesterday.
According to reports from the human rights organization “Hengaw,” on Tuesday, the 3rd of Bahman, Amir Shah-Valayati was arrested after being summoned to Evin Prosecutor’s Office and transferred to Evin Prison. Matin Hasani was also arrested yesterday in the city of Boukan.
During last year’s nationwide protests, both Amir Shah-Valayati and Matin Hasani were shot with pellet ammunition by regime forces, each losing vision in one eye. Amir Shah-Valayati was arrested in Ordibehesht of the current year and was released on bail after two months.
Matin Hasani also posted images of himself on social media in recent weeks showing his presence at the graves of those killed in the protests. He was arrested two days after posting an image of himself visiting the grave of “Yalda Agha-Fazli,” one of those killed in the nationwide protests.
The Islamic Republic regime, which even fears the presence of people at the graves of those killed in the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, continues to arrest them and subject them to interrogation and torture. Now, Amir Shah-Valayati and Matin Hasani, after suffering physical and psychological harm inflicted by regime agents, have been arrested again by the prosecutor’s office, which they had visited to clarify their statements. Amir Shah-Valayati has been charged with “propaganda against the regime,” “membership in a rebel group,” and “actions against national security.”
The Islamic Republic’s judicial system has not yet made any statement regarding the arrest of these two injured protesters.
