Arrest of Families of Victims Following Protest Gathering in Sanandaj

Several families of victims were arrested following yesterday’s protests in Sanandaj.
Yesterday, Friday, on the 19th of Khordad, a widespread protest gathering was held by families of victims at the grave of “Danial Pabaandi.” Danial Pabaandi was a teenager who lost his life at the hands of security forces during the nationwide protests of 1401.
Following yesterday’s protest gathering, several families were arrested by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location. According to “HRANA,” the news agency of the Human Rights Activists Association, several of these individuals were released on Saturday, the 20th of Khordad, but eight citizens from Sanandaj remain in detention.
According to statements made by Farhad Mahmoudi, brother of Freydoun Mahmoudi, one of the recent protest victims, several mothers of victims were released this morning; however, citizens named Hossein Amini, Sadegh Bahmani, Hashem Saedi, Ahmad Rahimi, Arman Habibi, and Abdolrahman Nasri, along with two minibus drivers who were responsible for transporting the families of victims to Aichi Cemetery in Sanandaj, remain in detention.
The Islamic Republic system fears even the mourning of bereaved families. Not only do they refuse to allow these families to mourn and hold ceremonies for the deceased, but in many cases they have also attacked and destroyed the gravestones of the victims. According to the people of Sanandaj and Zahedan, this revolution will soon bear fruit through the unity and solidarity of the people.
