“Azad Rezai”, Young Kurdish Yarsan Follower, Shot by Security Forces

“Azad Rezai” from Kermanshah, a follower of the Yarsan faith, was shot by security forces in the head area.
Kurdish people have been subjected to oppression by the Islamic Republic regime since the past. Since the beginning of the popular revolution uprising, Kurdish people have lost the most young people in these protests, yet they continue to stand for the freedom and liberation of Iran.
Azad Rezai was a 25-year-old young man from the “Qalkhani” tribe and a resident of the village of Bani Bid in the “Gohare” district of Dalahu city, and lived in the “Darre Driz” neighborhood in Mahdi township of Kermanshah.
Azad was killed at 23:00 on Monday, 7 Farvardin 1402, corresponding to March 27, 2023, near Niyayesh Square by direct fire from government security forces.
According to one of Rezai’s family members, security forces shot him in the head while he was inside his Peugeot 405 vehicle, and Azad died instantly.
Azad (a driver) was driving around the city with three other friends when security forces claimed he did not comply with a checkpoint inspection and shot him for this reason, a claim that his family and friends deny.
Azad had only one year of married life before he lost his life at the hands of security forces. Unfortunately, Azad’s killing by government security forces has not yet been reported in the media due to threats. It should be noted that Azad’s body has been at the coroner’s office and is scheduled to be handed over to his family today.
