Beating Leads to Death of Nine-Year-Old Child by Father in Kerman

A nine-year-old child from Bardsir County in Kerman Province died following severe beatings by his father.

According to Hrana News Agency, the news organ of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, on Friday, April 22, 2022, a nine-year-old child from Bardsir County in Kerman Province lost his life.

According to an informed source, the child was admitted to Afsalipour Hospital in Kerman following severe beatings and blows to the body and head inflicted by his father, and ultimately died.

Afshin Salehi Nejad, the general and revolutionary prosecutor of Bardsir County, while confirming the news in an interview with ISNA, announced the arrest of the accused and added: “Given the separation of the child’s parents and the problems created for the children, as well as the accused’s inability to control his anger and addiction, he severely beat the victim and inflicted severe blows to the body and head of the nine-year-old boy, leading to his death.”

According to the general and revolutionary prosecutor of Bardsir, the father claimed that his motive was disciplining the child. He stated in this regard: “At this stage of the investigation conducted by the special prosecutor for murder, it is clear that no one other than the father played any role in this crime, and the perpetrator himself stated in his statements that his motive was punishment and claimed that he did not intend to kill him.”
