Benjamin Netanyahu: People of Iran, This is Your Opportunity, It is Time to Rise Up
Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the people of Iran, announcing that it is time to rise up, this is your opportunity.
Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, made a statement addressing the people of Iran hours earlier on Friday evening. Speaking at this press conference, he said: “Tonight I want to speak with you, the proud people of Iran. We are in the midst of one of the greatest military operations in history, Operation Dawn of the Lion. The Islamic regime that has oppressed you for nearly fifty years now threatens my country, Israel, with destruction. The goal of Israel’s military operation is to eliminate this threat, both the nuclear threat and the threat of ballistic missiles against Israel. As we achieve our objectives, we are paving the way for you to achieve your goal, which is freedom.”
He also added, while referring to Iran-Israel relations: “The people of Iran and the people of Israel have been true friends to one another since the days of Cyrus the Great. Now is the time for you to unite around your flag and your historical heritage and stand for freedom from the clutches of a demonic and tyrannical regime. This regime has never been as weak as it is now. This is your opportunity to rise up and make your voice heard to the world.”
Netanyahu, in part of his remarks by reciting the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom” in Farsi, continued: “As I have said yesterday and many times before, Israel’s fight is not with you. Our fight is not with you, the brave people of Iran, whom we respect and admire. Our fight is with our common enemy; with a murderous regime that oppresses you and has brought you to poverty. Brave people of Iran! Your light will break the darkness. I am with you, the people of Israel are with you, rise up.”
The Prime Minister of Israel also thanked Donald Trump, the President of the United States, for his leadership in countering the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. Donald Trump also posted a message on the Truth social network stating: “Two months ago I gave Iran 60 days to reach an agreement. They should have done it! Today is the sixty-first day. I told them what they needed to do, but they were unable to implement it. Now maybe, just maybe, there was a second chance for them.”
According to media reports, in addition to Tehran, cities and areas where nuclear sites are located, including Natanz, the Parchin facility, Khondab, the Arak heavy water reactor, and areas in the cities of Qom, Khorramabad, Hamadan, Qasr-e Shirin, Tabriz, Piranshahr, Kermanshah, Ilam, Khuzestan, Ardabil, Isfahan, Central, and Fars were subjected to Israeli attacks.
