Corona Outbreak in the World, Latest News and Statistics

More than 107,000 people worldwide have been infected with coronavirus. So far, more than 3,600 people have died. About a hundred countries are dealing with coronavirus, the most severe being: China, South Korea, Iran and Italy. A German citizen died from coronavirus.

In the latest developments of coronavirus spread in Europe, Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy, announced a lockdown of Lombardy and 14 other provinces in northern Italy. This way, about 16 million people are being quarantined. Within the locked-down area, restrictions have also been announced for citizens’ movement.

Business hours of shops and restaurants have been limited and people have been asked to stay home as much as possible.

Cinemas, theaters, museums and other public events are closed until April 3.

Italy shows the highest number in Europe with 5,900 cases of illness and over 230 deaths from the epidemic.

Virus Growth in Germany and Austria

In Germany, about 950 cases have been identified so far. The first German citizen has also died from coronavirus in Egypt.

The German government has banned all events and programs with more than a thousand people.

Restrictions have been announced in Switzerland to prevent the disease.

Austria has so far recorded over a hundred cases of coronavirus. It has suspended all flights to South Korea, Iran and northern Italy.

Several Deaths in France

As of Sunday, March 8, 11 people have died from coronavirus in France.

It is reported that about 950 people are infected with this virus.

Britain

In Britain, about 500 people have been infected with coronavirus and 6 people have died from this epidemic.

Iceland declared a state of emergency on March 6. So far, 43 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Iceland. It is reported that most of them had traveled to Italy or Austria for winter holidays.

In Hungary, 7 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified so far and the government has announced measures.

The Russian government has so far identified 15 cases of coronavirus and announced restrictions for foreign travelers. People entering Russia from China, Switzerland, South Korea, Italy, Iran, France, Germany, Norway, Spain and North America must be quarantined at home for two weeks.

China, Source of the Virus Plague

Most experts believe the virus was transmitted to humans in December at a wildlife animal market in Wuhan, in Hubei Province in China.

According to a statement by China’s Health Commission, the disease outbreak has passed the critical phase and its spread is now slowing.

Responsible authorities reported on Sunday 27 deaths in Hubei Province and 44 new cases of the disease, showing a significant decline compared to previous days.

According to experts, these statistics should be viewed with skepticism: there are different assessments about the extent of the epidemic spread in China and various statistics have been published.

According to official statistics, over 80,000 people in China have been infected with coronavirus, of which about 57,000 have been treated and recovered.

In Asia

South Korea in the east and Iran in the west of Asia are two other centers of coronavirus spread.

In South Korea, the number of infected people with the virus has reached over 7,000 cases and continues to increase.

It is reported that 44 people have died in South Korea so far.

In Hong Kong, about a hundred people have been infected with the disease and so far two people have died.

In Thailand, about 50 people have been infected with the disease and one person has died.

Thailand has banned entry to the country for travelers from several countries: South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Italy and Iran.

In Singapore, 130 people have been infected with the deadly virus. According to reports, 70 people have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

According to official statistics, over 1,050 people in Japan have been affected by coronavirus and 12 have died. The government has announced restrictions on gatherings and movement.

In Japan, all schools are closed from the beginning of March until April 1.

Severe restrictions have been announced in Israel for entry into the country.

Saudi Arabia has suspended the pilgrimage ceremonies of hajj in Mecca and Medina. This country has created a quarantine for the Qatif region.

Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates have announced restrictions on entry into the country. Kuwait has suspended all its flights to seven coronavirus-affected countries.

Dubai has reported at least 45 people infected with the disease.

In Iran, over 6,500 people have been infected with coronavirus and at least 200 have died.

Cases of coronavirus spread have been recorded in Pakistan, Iraq, Qatar, Oman and Afghanistan.

Virus Spread in North and South America

Cases of virus spread have been seen in Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

On Sunday, it was announced that in the capital of Argentina, a 64-year-old man died from coronavirus infection in a hospital.

The virus has spread in various regions of the United States. According to “New York Times” reports, as of Saturday evening (March 7), about 350 people have been infected with coronavirus and 17 have died.

In New York State, 76 cases of coronavirus have been identified and an emergency situation has been declared for this reason.

On the cruise ship “Grand Princess” which has arrived at the coast of San Francisco (California), at least 21 people have been infected with coronavirus.

In Canada, 23 cases of the disease have been identified so far.

In Africa

According to official statistics released by the Egyptian government, only 15 people in this country have been infected with coronavirus; however, it is said that the actual number, including among foreign tourists, is much higher.

In Algeria, 17 cases of coronavirus have been recorded.

Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon and South Africa have recorded cases of coronavirus infection.

Experts at the World Health Organization hope that a vaccine for the coronavirus epidemic will be produced before rapid spread in Africa.

In Australia, over 60 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified and two people have died.

Restrictions have been announced in Australia and flights to several countries have been suspended.
