December and the Rhythm of Work

The regular and periodic action of Iranian Islamic government intelligence officers during the birth of Jesus Christ and the Christian New Year is raiding churches and arresting Christians. Operations that have been an integral part of intelligence agency programs for over three decades.

News of the arrest of young Christians, raids on house churches, and disruption of worship gatherings during the birth of Jesus Christ is nothing that would shock or surprise us or even other non-Christian media outlets. During the birth of Jesus and the Christian New Year, the work rhythm of these gentlemen increases. Why?

It is clear. The enthusiasm and eagerness that Iranian Christians and even non-Christians have to perform some of the Christmas celebration ceremonies provides the gentlemen with reasons for their anger. Don’t believe it? Follow the news and see how vendors are prevented from selling any items related to this celebration. Owning a decorated pine tree during this period is evidence of a crime. Are you laughing? Have you noticed the confiscated items by officers in the news of the arrest of young Christian Meysam Hojjati, Have you paid attention?

If you have the patience and a little time, you can find an abundance of such news by visiting the news archives of Christian and non-Christian news networks. In following arrest news, there will be thought-provoking points for the “note-worthy” among you.

1. How many are these young Christians that after thirty years and with this volume of arrests, they still exist? Why don’t they end completely?

2. Have you noticed that young Christian Saman Rahmani was the son of whom?

3. Have you noticed the views of Islamic government officials about young Christians? Comparing evangelical Christians with the Taliban and Wahhabis?! They even declared evangelical Christianity to be Zionist!!

I admit that this interpretation of young Christians is in its own way an unparalleled and unique “grotesque” (a collection of opposites). This was stated by Dr. Morteza Tamaddon, former Governor of Tehran, on December 14, 1389 in a religious gathering.

The blind anger of Dr. Tamdons and the gentlemen in plain clothes from the intelligence agency certainly has justified reasons. You tell me, isn’t the first and second question enough for this anger? Many, knowing the history of the severity of these gentlemen’s anger, do not hesitate from them and believe in Jesus Christ. Worse than that, this evangelical Christianity has penetrated into the private chambers of these gentlemen, and their children also believe. These children either become estranged from their fathers, get arrested, and we all hear the news. Or their fathers, to preserve their honor and credibility, send them as lights out, under the pretext of education and so on, to infidel lands.

Perhaps in the private circles of these gentlemen, it is the news and statistics of the increasing tendency towards Christianity that make their time bitter. Especially if the account is of a high-ranking cleric’s child, a parliament representative, or a military commander converting to Christianity. And perhaps it is in these private circles that the decision to “deliver the final blow to the body of the church” is made. I want to make a media confession here. I personally know devout Christians from families of each of the three mentioned groups.

Finally, I remind of a parable about God’s kingdom in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter thirteen, verse 33.

Another parable he put forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

This is God’s shortest explanation about His kingdom among us. The kingdom of Jesus on earth is like “leaven.” It is enough for leaven to be put into dough. No one and nothing can prevent the “rising” of dough. The leaven of Christ’s kingdom has been placed in our country and is growing silently and will continue to advance. Whether it is our desire or not. God’s kingdom in these last thirty-seven years has grown beyond all our belief and will continue to advance. For Him there is no obstacle. Amen.
