Deprivation of Medical Treatment for “Hamzeh Savari Lafte” in Qarchak Prison, Karaj

“Hamzeh Savari Lafte”, a political prisoner detained in Qarchak Prison in Karaj, is deprived of medical treatment.
Hamzeh Savari was arrested by security forces on September 2, 2005, when he was only 16 years old. He was sentenced to death by the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court on charges of “corruption on earth”, “waging war against God”, and “action against national security”, a sentence that was ultimately reduced to life imprisonment.
Throughout his imprisonment, he has suffered from numerous medical problems, but despite his poor physical condition, he has been deprived of proper medical care and hospital referrals. Mr. Savari contracted “Baker’s cyst” approximately five years ago, and since then, due to lack of proper medical attention, the cyst has grown and has also affected the tendon in his foot.
It should be noted that he had suffered from varicose veins approximately 11 years ago, and two years after that, he was referred to medical centers and underwent surgery, but the disease recurred, and his repeated requests for medical treatment have been denied to date.
The prosecutor of Hamzeh Savari’s case has opposed referring this political prisoner to medical centers and hospitals outside the prison, and this has caused Mr. Savari to endure pain and suffering.
Now that Mr. Savari is serving his eighteenth year of imprisonment, he is in poor physical condition, but despite his dire circumstances, he remains deprived of proper medical care.
