Elderly Woman Beaten by Cleric in ‘Sheshlou’ Village

An elderly woman in the village of “Sheshlou”, under the jurisdiction of Langarud city in Gilan Province, was beaten by a cleric.

Videos circulating on social media show the beating of an elderly woman by a cleric. A cleric in Sheshlou village, under the jurisdiction of Langarud city in Gilan Province, entered the private property of the woman in question, broke the fence of her courtyard, and when confronted with her objections, beat and assaulted her.

The cleric in question, identified as “Seifollah Gohari”, is the head of the ideological affairs department at one of the institutions in Langarud city.

When government clerics and security forces are immune from prosecution and punishment for crimes they commit, it is hardly surprising that a cleric holding even a minor position allows himself to use his clerical attire to assault a woman and beat her, while simultaneously claiming that touching an unrelated woman is considered a sin.
